Bran muffin is a favorite classic muffin recipe which is still widely enjoyed today. Bran muffins are commonly served during breakfasts and are known to be a nutritious good as it is rich in dietary fibers and at the same time it also contains significant amounts of protein, fat, starch, dietary minerals and vitamins.
Bran muffins are very simple to create. There are a number of recipe books which provide alternative ingredients for bran muffin, making use of raisins and oranges as part of their flavors.
In making a classic bran muffin, simply prepare ingredients such as one and one fourth cup of all purpose flour, about half cup of sugar, half a teaspoon of salt, one tablespoon of baking powder, 1 cups of All Bran cereal, one and one fourth cups of fat free milk, 2 eggs, a quarter cup of canola oil, a teaspoon of vanilla, a teaspoon of orange peel and half a cup of raisins.
Start preparing by pre heating the oven at around 400 degrees F. Spray the muffin pan with vegetable oil or use a muffin liner so as to prevent the cooked muffin from sticking in the pan.
In a separate bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder and the salt together. Set this mixture aside and start combining the milk and the cereal in a separate bowl. Allow this mixture to stand until the milk has absorbed into the cereal. Leave this for about 5 minutes. After this mix along the egg, oil, vanilla and the raisins and orange peel onto the cereal mix. Stir all the ingredients together and add along the flour mixture.
Pour over the batter onto the greased pan and place them inside the oven. Bake everything for 20 minutes. Once cooked, remove from the oven and let is cool for another 5 minutes before serving,
