They can have chunks of fruits or cores of filling in it.

One of the more popular muffin recipes for children and the young at heart include chocolate and muffins. Be it chocolate muffins or muffins baked with chocolate chips, it's sure to be a favorite among the young. To make the traditional chocolate muffin, you'll need flour, baking cocoa, sugar, baking soda, eggs, milk, vanilla, salt and chocolate chips. You'll have to mix the dry ingredients with the vanilla and add half the chocolate chips. In another bowl, you have to mix the eggs and the milk. When the liquid ingredients have been blended well the egg milk mixture can be added to the mixture of dry ingredients. Mix thoroughly. After pouring in muffin pans that have been coated with non-stick cooking spray, sprinkle the tops with the remaining chocolate chips. Bake for 20 minutes in a 400 degree F oven.

Another variation of this recipe is when you use bananas to create Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins. The extra ingredients it needs include bananas, butter and cinnamon. You can use the same steps but you'll need to add the cinnamon in the dry ingredients mixture and the bananas and butter have to be blended in with the egg and milk mixture.
